2013 ISCA Conference Guest Speaker

Laura Johnson, a Florence, Italy-based art historian, travel writer and a frequent contributor to the Register Star, will share her vast knowledge on building cultural bridges. Pam and Jim Keeling will share their insights on sister cities and peace movement. Linnea Bengtsson and Frida Helgesson of Lidkoping, Sweden, will describe their relationship with Rockford, a novel model for building sustainable economic ties between cities.

A group of exceptionally talented and dedicated volunteers have been working on creating a memorable conference experience for guests from Illinois and beyond. Take a break from spring cleaning and join us this weekend — for the price of a round of golf or a minor league baseball game, you could make a connection or get an idea that may change your life.

For other information about the conference, go to gorockford.com (under Events/Programs, click Calendar of Events/Registration, then the “2013 Illinois Sister Cities Association Annual Conference” link).

Holly & Jay Mathur are the chaircouple for the 2013 ISCA Conference. Holly is an ISCA board member and heads the Youth Exchange Committee. Contact them at 815-978 2583 or jay.mathur@valueideas.com
