We invite all youth to join us at the 2013 Sister Cities International Annual Conference in San Antonio, Texas, July 11-13! The Conference will feature a special program for youth, where through guided sessions they will learn about diplomacy through role-playing as a country representative at a convening of the United Nations.
The youth track at the 2013 Annual Conference seeks to engage the next generation of citizen diplomats in the sister city movement. In a rich learning and interactive environment, participants will learn, debate, deliberate, and negotiate, as they play the role of an international diplomat. The sessions will culminate with the youth delegates passing a “formal” resolution addressing a particular global issue.
Participants will also visit the local Toyota Cars assembly factory site and learn about its connection to the sister cities movement, meet one-on-one with Department of State representatives, and learn about the important role of sports in global engagement.
A special youth registration rate is being offered with registration opening on March 1, 2013.
Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
